Coronacation - Day 1

I'd love to say I came up with "coronacation" term, but I didn't. Credit goes to my supervisor's daughter (a senior in high school).

At the edge of old maps, beyond the known world at the time, ancient cartographers wrote: "Here be dragons". That's where we are right now - all of us. It's not hyperbole to say this is the most significant disruption to everyday life our world has seen since World War II. After 9-11, schools were still open. Bars and restaurants were thriving. Our professional sports took a week off, but after that, it was business as usual.

Wouldn't that be nice now?

Most of us are looking at a minimum of three weeks of complete upheaval. Schools closed. Gatherings canceled. Bars and restaurants take-out only. Communities are even closing down playgrounds and parks. How we handle the next few weeks will define us going forward.

So, how do we start? A long walk to a local coffee shop. After putting in some "work from home" hours, we braved the cold, breezy weather and walked to 978 Cafe in our neighborhood for an iced tea and a smoothie. Even if we can't come together physically (hello, social distancing), we have to come together in other ways. Being there for each other doesn't have to be a physical thing.
